  32.   There are a few ways to deal with errors.  An ideal method is to use a scsi
  33. utility which allows you to enable the drive's own error recovery firmware, if
  34. it has it.  Then, format it and do some sort of read/write test or function,
  35. until all the errors have been "repaired".  Not all drives support this, nor
  36. does the typical HD prepping software usually have this option.  It has been a
  37. while since I did this with a bad drive, so I don't recall exactly what I did.
  38. It was on a Supra 500XP, and Supra's own software had the option to set drive
  39. modes.

  41.   Another method, though not as effective, is to use a utility to map bad blocks
  42. as unusable.  Unlike the drive's own capability, this mapping may be erased
  43. allow you to use the drive.
